David Valente is an Associate Lecturer at the Norwegian Study Centre - University of York, UK. The NSC is well known and loved by generations of Norwegian students, and is both a part of the University of York and an extension of the Norwegian higher education system, established and core funded by the Norwegian government. Since the early 1980s, it has offered students, teachers and others not only high-quality teaching, but also an opportunity to immerse themselves in the languages and cultures of the UK.

During his 25 years of international experience in English education, David´s work has included teaching, teacher education, academic coordination, course book development and project management. David builds on these experiences as the communications director for the Early Language Learning Research Association (ELLRA) and as the reviews editor for the diamond open-access journal, Children’s Literature in English Language Education (CLELE journal).
